We see, however, no actual wound on Christ's hands or feet and none on his side where Thomas touches. Byzantine art omits harsh reality in favor of divine mystery. The moment is intimate, between Jesus and His disciple student. He is proving to Thomas that He is present and alive on earth before rising to be with God. John 20:26-29 </p>
