The image is done in response to a sacred vow given to God during the artist's visit to Jerusalem in 2010. It was the fulfilment of a promise given by the artist there, in the Holy Land, to do an icon for the Armenian Church of the Holy Trinity in Yerevan. The picture is an exact copy of the same image of the 6th c. miniature "The Annunciation" attached to the 10th c. Etchmidzin Gospel held by Mashtots Matenadaran, Armenia). The icon was prayerfully completed within 40 days of the vow and was displayed in the artist's exhibitions in the Yerevan museums. The artist executed the first example of the "Annunciation" in 2000 in Yerevan as a miniature (about 30 cm X 20 cm, the same sizes of the 6th c. original) on vellum for a Euro Council secretary in England.
