Veronica Royal
Iconographer Veronica Royal has studied icon writing since 1995 with Russian, Greek, and American master iconographers, including George Gashev, Philip Davydov, Theodore Papadopolous, Xenia Prokovsky, Marek Zarnecky, Phil Zimmerman, Peter Pearson and Jody Cole. She has painted commissioned works for private individuals and public institutions worldwide. She first conceived a love for icons in the Ukranian community where she lived.
She is the founder of Royal Icon Studio, which has been featured in numerous regional and international publications. Her icons have been exhibited in at the Sheen Centre Gallery in New York, as well as in galleries and churches in Virgina, Maryland and Washington D.C. in the United States.
For over 20 years, Veronica has overseen student iconographers in her Guild. She has also taught workshops with the Arlington (Virgina, United States) Diocese, Catholic Distance University, church groups, and private individuals, as well as giving frequent lectures on the history and spirituality of iconography.
She works full-time as an iconographer filling commissions for churches, priests, religious organisations, and families as well as teaching workshops and lecturing at various venues nationwide.
Veronica currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband Robert, a writer of many books, the Editor-in-Chief of The Catholic Thing and President of the Faith and Reason Institute in Washington, DC.
